This blog will be about vision aids and replacements for blind people.

We will be exploring the social settings and implications of technology to help visually challenged people. With the current advances in technology, it is already possible to give blind people some sort of vision. It’s a progression that will not slow down in the near future.

However with every technology, there are always advantages and disadvantages, not every solution is equally as valid – be it useful or even necessary.

This blog fits in the framework of our master thesis about developing a device that converts images to sound. It will not be about the technical aspects of the thesis, but more about the implications of it in the real world.

We are Heleen and Koenraad, two master students Intelligent Electronics at Group T International Engineering School University of Leuven. We will be working on this topic during the academic 2013-2014 year. We will keep you updated on a regular basis.

Thank you for visiting our blog and we hope you will enjoy reading our future posts!
